 Film Writing   Overview

Music Writing | Art Writing | Cuisine Writing | Travel Writing

Ah, film, the day-glow lure of anyone who abandons real relationships and home cooking to wade through the surgically enhanced treacheries of Los Angeles and its carrot-on-a-stick-on-a-Boxster-hood promises.

I, too, swallowed the one fish, two fish, red fish and blue fish. I'm talking about the killer sushi here, not the winnowing bait of Hollywood. Well, OK, I did some stuff, abbreviated below.

"But what I really want to do is..."

Write. I currently freelance for the San Francisco Chronicle, but would enjoy writing for editors of American and non-American magazines, and one or two editors of another major U.S. metro newspaper. I have a great knack of getting the personal stories of celebrities that they don’t normally share with other journalists. I split time between Los Angeles and San Francisco and am available for international travel on short notice.

Film Features

Great Dames: Film Noir Festival Puts Focus on Females (1.7 MB) - The festival will also pair films that showcase the dramatic talents of noir luminaries Joan Crawford and Barbara Stanwyck, tête-a-tête, in a sort of imaginary catfight. "These women had such powerful screen personas," says Muller, "that they could almost be called auteurs in their own right, especially when it came to noir." (archived on SF Gate)

Ving Rhames - "It can be dangerous psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually if you're playing an evil character like Diamond Dog and you don't go through some metamorphosis to cleanse yourself of that energy when the performance is done."
